Graduate Resident Fellow
Jessica is a second year doctoral student in the Department of English. Like most doctoral students, she is an astronaut of inner space. Jessica works broadly and simultaneously with Caribbean theory, postmodern literature, and ideas of race, space, power and history. Jessica was born and raised Dominican-American in Queens, NY, and her experiences as a first generation college student, many years-long academic writing tutor, and life-time learner have all shaped her student-centered approach to research, teaching, and writing.
Jessica enjoys listening to jazz and lo-fi hip hop, walking in nature, watching Steven Universe, and ceaselessly adding to the already long list of reading she needed to have had done yesterday.
