Graduate Resident Fellow
Zhenni Li joined the J.S.D. Program at Cornell Law School in 2018 and specializes in public international law and constitutional law. Before that, she worked at the Permanent Court of Arbitration, the Constitutional Court of South Africa, and the International Criminal Court (intern). Zhenni studied in Leiden, Cornell and Wuhan University.
Zhenni is from Xi’an, China. When she was an undergraduate student, she was perplexed about what to do and what kind of person to become. Finding little passion in electronic engineering while inspired by John Rawls, she decided to change her path to law. Meanwhile on the debate team, she reflected on the paradoxes in social structure, rule of law, sovereignty, human rights etc. The reflection continues when she went abroad in 2014. She saw bias and conflicts everywhere, but she also saw possibilities for diversity and inclusiveness. Zhenni hopes to work in international institutions after graduation.
