Katherine (Kat) Anderson has been a development professional and fundraising consultant for more than thirty years. A central Major Gifts Officer at Cornell University, she was previously with Physicians for Human Rights, the Museum of Science in Boston, Oxfam America, Ithaca Neighborhood Housing Services, Planned Parenthood of the Southern Finger Lakes, and Family & Children’s Service of Ithaca. She earned her undergraduate degree at Kenyon College and her Masters of Theological Studies at Harvard Divinity School. In the late 1980’s, she returned to Kenyon for two years, where she taught in the Religion Department and worked in the Office of Public Affairs. Currently, she is a Town of Danby Fire Commissioner, a board member of Ithaca City of Asylum, and on the advisory board of Educate the Children, which works in Nepal. Kat is also a writer, whose poems have appeared in dozens of reviews, and the author of Greek Revival, a chapbook published by the Wells Center for Book Arts and the Olive Branch Press. She and her husband, Max Pensky, live in Ithaca, where she enjoys sailing her Adirondack guide boat on Cayuga Lake.
